He began his career as a volunteer EMT at Drexel when he started college, where he discovered his love for being an EMT. After gaining experience in other EMS jobs, Mathew joined VMSC in September 2023. What Mathew loves most about working at VMSC is the willingness of everyone to help you learn and teach you something new. The supportive and educational environment is something he truly appreciates. Outside of work, Mathew enjoys continuing to volunteer at his college EMS agency, going to the beach in his home state of NJ, and finding new foods to try with his girlfriend and family. As for hobbies, he’s a big car guy who loves attending car shows, car photography, and working on and driving his own car. Thank you, Mathew, for your dedication and enthusiasm! Car Seat Safety Class

Car Seat Safety Class

We are thrilled to announce that seven dedicated VMSC employees and volunteers have successfully completed a rigorous 32-hour training program to become certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs). This certification process, offered by Safe Kids Worldwide, equips our team with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the safety of child passengers in our community. The training program was comprehensive, including both classroom and hands-on instruction. Our personnel learned the intricacies of child safety seat installation and inspection, ensuring they are well-prepared to assist parents and caregivers with the correct use of child restraint systems. This training covered a wide range of topics, including the different types of child safety seats, the importance of proper installation, and how to identify common installation errors. The hands-on sessions were particularly valuable, allowing our team to practice their skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. VMSC is committed to the safety and well-being of the #NorthPenn community, and this new service is a testament to that commitment. Our newly certified CPSTs will provide child safety seat inspections and installations free of charge, ensuring that every child in our community travels safely. We understand the critical importance of proper child seat installation, as it significantly reduces the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Parents and caregivers who are interested in scheduling an appointment with one of our CPSTs can call the VMSC Business Office at 215-855-3779. We encourage you to take advantage of this free service to ensure your child’s car seat is installed correctly. Additionally, stay tuned for updates on our website and social media pages, where we will announce the community events we’ll be attending. These events will provide additional opportunities for you to have your child’s car seat inspected or installed by our certified technicians. At VMSC, we are constantly striving to redefine what it means to put the community first. Our commitment to safety extends beyond emergency medical services to include preventative measures that enhance the well-being of our residents. The certification of our employees and volunteers as CPSTs is just one example of how we are working to meet the needs of our community in innovative and impactful ways.
