Employee Spotlight: Paramedic George Wolfarth
At VMSC, our people are the heart of everything we do. Each month, we take a moment to highlight one of our incredible team members whose dedication, skill, and compassion truly embody our mission of “Making a Difference: One Day, One Call, One Life at a Time.”
This month, we’re proud to introduce you to Paramedic George Wolfarth.
A Lifelong Commitment to EMS
George’s journey in emergency medical services began back in 1987 after his family relocated to rural Downingtown. Eager to get involved in the community, he joined the local volunteer fire company, completed his First Responder and EMT certifications, and discovered his passion for helping people during their most critical moments.
His early career included time with Good Fellowship Ambulance, where he served as both a 911 EMT and a supervisor, before joining Crozer EMS in Delaware County. Over the next three decades, George became a respected and experienced Paramedic, known for his professionalism and steady presence on scene.
In June of this year, George joined VMSC’s Delco Division, bringing with him over 32 years of experience in EMS.
The “Jedi Master” of the Team
Among his peers, George has earned the nickname “The Jedi Master”—a fitting title for someone who has a calm, focused presence even in the most challenging situations.
As his Shift Commander shared:
“George is one of the nicest and most professional providers you can meet. He has a calming influence no matter how stressful the situation, and his ability to support and guide newer staff makes him an invaluable part of the team.”
George is especially admired for his mentorship of EMTs and new medics, always ready to share his knowledge and help them grow in their careers.
Beyond the Uniform
Outside of work, George has two favorite hobbies: gaming and metal detecting. He often spends his free time searching for treasures and artifacts, never knowing what interesting find might be waiting beneath the surface. It’s a passion that, like EMS, requires patience, focus, and a sense of adventure.
Thank You, George
George, thank you for your decades of service, your professionalism, and the positive impact you bring to both your patients and your colleagues. We are proud to have you as part of the VMSC family.
