Join us in spotlighting Moriyah Cox, a dedicated Paramedic here at VMSC!
Moriyah’s journey in emergency medical services began in late 2018 when she embraced the challenge of a Bunk-In Program. Living at a Fire Department, undergoing EMT and Firefighting classes, and responding to 911 calls, Moriyah’s passion for EMS ignited. Despite being hundreds of miles away from her family in Georgia, the bonds forged in intense situations like firefighting or complex medical calls became her new camaraderie. The steep learning curve only fueled her enthusiasm, culminating in her achievement of becoming a Nationally Registered Paramedic in January 2022.
At VMSC, Moriyah found a supportive environment that nurtured her growth as a new paramedic. Surrounded by exceptional providers and engaging in continuous learning opportunities, she gained confidence in her skills and knowledge.
Beyond the ambulance, Moriyah is on a quest for adventure. With a goal to be well-traveled, she has explored seven new states, Mexico, and Honduras last year, with plans to add two more states to her list this month. An avid reader, thrill-seeker, and occasional baker, Moriyah’s adventurous spirit and dedication enrich both her personal and professional life.
Moriyah Cox, your resilience, passion, and commitment to excellence inspire us all. Thank you for your invaluable contributions to VMSC and the communities you serve.
